Live Simply, for the Reneabouquet April ATC Challenge With Giveaway

I started off with a piece of paper and a butterfly from Reneabouquet. I took a metal frame, cut the paper to fit, and coated it with Diamond Glaze.  I think it would have been better with Dimensional Magic, but I didnt think to use it. I used Tattered Angels in Walnut Gold, some green chalk ink, and gold mica powder mixed with water. The hummingbirds are from an old calendar( I love hummingbirds by the way.) The gold layer under the top one is tissue paper over a piece of watercolor paper.

I applied glossy accents on the charms, and topped it with gold metal leaf,it comes in little flakes.

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a page for Paper House. I love the photorealism of these papers, the colors and details are amazing!

My son Nick didn't want to be goalie at this game, this is his "angry" expression. Nick played soccer for ten years, and my husband coached the team he was on. You could say the game was a big part of our lives!

Supplies Used:

To make this page I took a piece of  corrugated cardboard and tore the top layer off. I painted it with yellow and orange acrylic paint. I pressed on embossing ink around the edges with a pad, poured on clear embossing powder, and heated it. I dry brushed on layers of gold paint, turquoise Vintaj patina paint, metallic turquoise acrylic paint, linen distress embossing powder, micro beads, and mica flakes. I topped it off with white gesso, and rubbed on some pearl mica powder.

Underneath the photo is a piece of canvas with a fringe, to pick up on the look of  my son's hair.
I sprayed water on the edge of the canvas, then took a straight pin and pulled out the horizontal threads. After doing that to the four sides,I applied gesso, then black watercolor.

I used mod podge to adhere two extra sheets of old scrapbooking paper underneath the black cardstock, to keep the top layer very flat.

There are three die cuts around the page that I pressed into an embossing ink pad, then sprinkled gold embossing powder on, and heated. I did the same thing with copper powder but in smaller areas.

I applied gesso with a cosmetic sponger around the photo, applied mod podge, then sprinkled on linen colored embossing powder on top. I wanted it to look like dirt, and think I was successful! I added a few metal pieces and flowers to finish the page.

Thanks for looking at my page, and I hope you liked it!

Rich and I

Hi everyone, Melissa here with a page for Paper House. I love working with these beautifully made products, the colors and images are amazing!

My husband and I had a house in the Sierra Nevada foothills in Northern California. We were there for about two years, and this photo was taken during that time. It's hard to put into words how much I loved living there. We were on top of a hill, and could see the mountains of Tahoe, 40 miles away.

 Supplies used:

To make this page I put a piece of Believe paper onto a sheet of black cardstock.  I put a wide piece of lace on, and taped it to the underside of the black paper.  I put the photo on black cardstock, and used foam core board to give it some dimension. Later on I attached ribbon around the photo with foam tape.  I also decided there was too much lace, and cut some off.

I applied gesso with a small cosmetic sponge, and put on my embellishments. I added some cute hummingbird puffy stickers because they're adorable. There were a lot of those little birds in real life there, and I would spend hours watching them.  I used watercolors, crackle paint, mica powders, stenciled texture paste on to frame the photo.

I wiped glossy accents on the mini butterflies, then poured on glitter.

I colored  gauze with brown watercolor to make some nesting material that you see at the bottom right. I dry brushed all over the page with metallic aqua paint on the edges and surfaces of textured areas.

I outlined areas on the page with heavy lines using a watercolor pencil, and brushed water on over them to blend them.

I've used some wolf stickers at the bottom of the page, and while wolves weren't in that area, there was a lot of wildlife. Every night I would listen to coyotes howling.

Thanks for looking at my page, I hope you liked it!
