Girl and Puppy

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a page I've made as a gift for a friend. The photo is of her daughter,  taken in Alaska at a musher camp, and she's holding a Husky puppy.

I started with a piece of Bo Bunny paper from the Sleigh Ride Collection.

Bo Bunny - Sleigh Ride Collection - Christmas - 12 x 12 Double Sided Paper - Tradition

I put gesso on with a credit card, then I stenciled on texture paste with Prima's Fluttering Flower Stencil.

I mixed blue and green water colors and painted the whole page(Prussian Blue and Sap Green) I let the colors drip and run, but you can't see much of either. I added a little of  Lindy's Canna Lily Burnt Orange to the left side and misted it with water. I used Finnabair's Texture Paste Clear Crackle on the lower right and upper left sides.

I cut several rectangular pieces from a sheet of white textured cardstock, distressed the edges and put the pieces together. It's a little like doing a jigsaw puzzle,to get them into a shape you like. I painted them all with the same blue green watercolor mix, then rubbed on some gold mica powder, and put the photo on top.

With my finger I rubbed on gold rub n buff over the surface of the stenciled areas.

I squeezed on lines of  glossy accents, and rubbed some on with my finger, and poured seed beads and glitter on.  I also added freshwater pearls in grey, and a round mother of pearl item that you can see at the upper right,it reminded me of the moon.

Something about the way the light outside made the top photo look very green, as opposed to what the close ups look like. What really caused kind of a problem was after I was done painting with watercolors,I misted a lot of gold shimmer spray on, and it changed the look of the page,it made it look more green.

I used Prima flowers, included some I dyed myself by dipping white flowers in a cup with water and watercolors, using the same color as the background. I put on a little dry Lindy's powder on flowers while they were damp, and some glass glitter.

Here's some pics taken in direct sunlight, which are always my favorite. It really makes the details pop.

I made the little gold flower with some ribbon, I took a needle and thread and made big stitches along the length of the ribbon, and drew the lne of stitches tight, then knotted it off.

If you look closely you can see a rectangular glass piece above the photo.I got some frost spray in Christmas clearance recently from a craft store,in real life it looks so much like frost on a window.
