Butterfly and Fairy

Hi everyone! Melissa here with my entry for the Reneabouquets Fall In Love Contest With Giveaway.

I made this card using watercolor paper.

I distressed the edges, then put on Finnabair's Clear Crackle Texture Paste, I smeared some on with my fingers in a thick layer. I let it dry overnight, then put the butterfly on , as I wanted to make that the focal point.

I put on some texture paste with a stencil. I painted the crackle with a mix of prussian blue and brown watercolors, put some gold mica powder on, then some teal Lindy's Stamp Gang.  The crackle texture immediately absorbs the paint beautifully, and really shows off the cracks!

Using an old calendar as a guide,or reference, I drew and painted a fairy.

I put some gold mica powder on the stenciled texture.

I fussy cut the little fairy from an old Christmas card.

I made the small flowers with a Sizzix die.

The bee is by Vintaj.  I misted the ribbon with water, crumpled it, and put the ribbon in a puddle of teal Lindys. I dried it with a heat gun, I held it on my craft mat with the wood end of a paint brush.

The little bunny and baby fairy are from the same calendar I drew the fairy from.

I used gold, pale pink, and teal seed beads, micro bead, distress glitter, distress glitter glue, sequins, dried moss, tulle, and a moon charm to decorate the page.  I rubbed on gold mica powder on top of paint layers around the fairy.  I was trying to make a balance between the dark areas of the butterfly, and the rest of the page.
